About

I'm Cayte, a sustainability and environmental researcher, and a multimedia journalist. My career intertwines scientific expeditions, frontline investigations, and community initiatives for healthier environments. As a fellow of the Solutions Journalism Network, I’m dedicated to illuminating solutions for pressing environmental and social issues

My work, featured in The Atlantic, Scientific American, National Geographic, Hemispheres Magazine, and others, focuses on scientific discoveries, wildlife advocacy, and crucial environmental debates across energy development, natural resource management and conservation strategy.

I facilitate discussions across platforms like VICE News, The Explorers Club, and the Global Biodiversity Festival. Committed to promoting education on local ecologies, I guide for Fjällräven North America, building informative experiences through events and outdoor education.

As an Explorer’s Club fellow, I actively support women in sciences and exploration, particularly within the Rocky Mountain Chapter. I co-authored documentaries like 'Pathfinders: the First Women of the Explorers Club.’

Graduating from Columbia University's sustainability master’s program, I researched environmental economics and land management. Expedition based fieldwork in the Bolivian Amazon, Guatemalan estuaries, Cuba, and Peru provided me a nuanced understanding of how to bridge scientific work with community-led projects.
